Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of NASA and the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing
This season is all about space travel and the courage it takes to explore the unknown. Our 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing Education Program, which leads up to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing, is focused on the meanings of courage, perseverance, and achievement
We will explore the innovations of the past with the help of some of the most engaging Classical music ever written, and ask students to think about innovations they hope to see in the future. Our goal is to inspire young minds to think creatively and learn about an incredible time period in American History while they experience a performance by a professional Symphony Orchestra!
Our Music Director, Michael Butterman performed the program in 2017 with the National Symphony Orchestra as part of their John F. Kennedy #35day celebration. Check out the clip below of Maestro Butterman leading the NSO.
