This year thousands of students experienced the joy of live Classical music performed by the Pennsylvania Philharmonic. We thank you on their behalf for introducing music into their lives.
Each year your support makes what we do possible.
We need your help. Our goal is to raise $13,000 by July 31st, the end of our fiscal year, in order to balance our books and jump-start next season’s educational program. We look forward to connecting, collaborating with, and expanding the impressive work accomplished by local school music educators.
We are pleased to share a few letters we received from students this year. They let us know what they thought, what surprised them, and what they learned. These letters from Pottstown, Boyertown, York County, Bethlehem, and other locations remind us of the importance of our mission.
"I think when I’m an adult I might want to do everything that happened at the concert because it was that good!" – 4th grader - Boyertown Area School District
"I was surprised by how much I loved it and that you came to Boyertown just to play for us." – 6th grader – Boyertown Area School District
"I learned that music is so amazing and can sound so many ways. Also I learned that the Pennsylvania Philharmonic is my favorite orchestra." – 4th grader – Bethlehem Area School District
"Reach for the Stars," our 2018-2019 Education Program, celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing. Michael Butterman, our multi-talented Music Director, created the program and premièred it with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center. The program is designed for students grades 4-8. With an exciting space exploration theme, it explores the concepts of history, courage, and American innovation.
Please consider a contribution to the Pennsylvania Philharmonic so that we may reach our goal by the end of this month. Any amount helps and will be invested for the young people in your community.
